Nick Debate

one of my ex classmates suddenly decided to argue with me over my msn nick. he kept insisting there was another way to view this death and vaccine thing.. but i cant see it, even after he tried explaining, and i tried my best to comprehend it. try reading through the arguments and explainations, and see if u can grasp the meaning, or is it unfathomable to everyone else too. =)

Unhomer says:
death cannot be a vaccine if you arn't living ur life to it's fullest after this "Vaccine"

Unhomer says:
it is nothing but a cure

Unhomer says:
cure to life

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
its a vaccine cos u wun fall sick again after death

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
a prevention

Unhomer says:
establish immunity to a disease

Unhomer says:
how can u be immune to a disease when u arn't even alive?

Unhomer says:
u arn't there

Unhomer says:
you arn't preventing anything

Unhomer says:
there is nth

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
who says u arent immune?

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
ever saw a dead person falling sick?

Unhomer says:
when u r dead u are no longer considered part of this world

Unhomer says:
when u arn't part of ths world

Unhomer says:
how are u to be affected by sickness?

Unhomer says:
it is simply running away

Unhomer says:
would u say chopping ur arms and legs off is a vaccine against a arm and leg rotting disease?

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
it can be

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
but actually no

Unhomer says:
definition of Disease

Unhomer says:
In human beings, "disease" is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes discomfort, dysfunction, distress, social problems, and/or death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person

Unhomer says:
1. u r dead

Unhomer says:
u arn't human

Unhomer says:
there is no discomfort

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
if u chop it off they will rot faster

Unhomer says:
if u chop it off there will be nth to rot

Unhomer says:
just as the concept of ur death

Unhomer says:
there will be nothing to be sicken by

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
they will rot

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
evrything organic rots

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
legs r organic

Unhomer says:
=.= they rot but they do not ROT off

Unhomer says:
the disease makes it

Unhomer says:
havnt u ever heard of amputation?

Unhomer says:
does it speed rotting on the rest of the body?

Unhomer says:
ur concept is death being the chopping

Unhomer says:
against the fallin sick being this rotting of limbs

Unhomer says:
ur concept here is if there is no way to fall sick it is a vaccine

Unhomer says:
therefore

Unhomer says:
if there is nothing to rot, (limbs) it is a vaccine

Unhomer says:
subjective

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
ya so.. if u chop off the affected limb, it saves the rest of body from rotting

Unhomer says:
that is ur concept

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
similarly if u die, it prevents falling sick'

Unhomer says:
precisely

Unhomer says:
how can it be a vaccine if it causes discomfort?

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
what causes discomfort

Unhomer says:
disease causes DEATH

Unhomer says:
In human beings, "disease" is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes discomfort, dysfunction, distress, social problems, and/or ->death<- to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person

Unhomer says:
vaccine is immunity to disease

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
i see no point in that definition

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
yes vaccine is immunity to disease . if u die ur immune to disease

Unhomer says:
of course u see no point, it is against ur preception of vaccine

Unhomer says:
therefore this is subjective

Unhomer says:
if u r unwilling to take that difinition of disease then ur stand will not change

Unhomer says:
which is fine

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
if i take that definiton, it still doesnt go against my concept

Unhomer says:
it does

Unhomer says:
lol

Unhomer says:
let me cut it down then

Unhomer says:
from In human beings, "disease" is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes discomfort, dysfunction, distress, social problems, and/or death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person

Unhomer says:
to In human beings, "disease" is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person

Unhomer says:
that causes DEATH

Unhomer says:
if u take that to be the difinition of disease

Unhomer says:
then take vaccine 's difinition to be immunity of disease

Unhomer says:
then a vaccine is to prevent the condition that prevents death to the person afflicted

Unhomer says:
not to bring death about

Unhomer says:
but to prevent death

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
ok.. even so.. u cant die twice.

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
so in a way death prevents death

Unhomer says:
rofl

Unhomer says:
yea theres that loophole i guess

Unhomer says:
becos vaccine only prevents the CONDITION that causes death

Unhomer says:
u could infer that way

Unhomer says:
haha

Unhomer says:
subjective

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
subjectivr to what?

Unhomer says:
personal thoughts /perception

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
ur theory still doesnt prove my concept wrong .. cos theres loophole

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
so.. its not denied

Unhomer says:
lol i told ya subjective

Unhomer says:
u see

Unhomer says:
there can be 2 ways to infer this

Unhomer says:
1. literally

Unhomer says:
where vaccine prevents the condition that prevents death , does not stop it from issuing death blah blah not being able to die twice

Unhomer says:
2. inference can be seen like this

Unhomer says:
where vaccine prevents the condition that prevents death. can be argued such that how can vaccine cause somthing it is suppose to prevent ?

Unhomer says:
u should post this on a debate forum

Unhomer says:
and see them battle it out

Unhomer says:
post the two definitions

Unhomer says:
very likely it'll be evenly split

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
since when did the vaccine cause sth its suppose to prevent

Unhomer says:
=.= omg u arn't gettin me are u?

Unhomer says:
the 2nd inference is

Unhomer says:
that vaccine PREVENTS the coniditon that CAUSES death, therefore jumping str8 to vaccine prevents death

Unhomer says:
therefore arguing that how can vaccine cause death when it is suppose to prevent death

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
no the vaccine didnt cause death

Unhomer says:
which is pretty valid considering hw we are all still alive

Unhomer says:
UR STATEMENT

Death is like a vaccine - just need to go thru it once in a lifetime, and you wont catch the disease again. says:
death didnt cause death

Unhomer says:
JOHN KEEP UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Unhomer says:
u arn't following the thrend of this issue hai~~~ useless to debate .

Unhomer says:
stay to ur views then

General update 20/4

With the recent start of poly, i have a little difficulty finding time to blog and stuff. My recount of the CADC FOC is suffering 'outdation'. Memory of it is getting blurrer by each progressive day. gotta do it quick before it gets 'opaque'. But i will commit to finish it. Heres a series of random things.

I HATE having to use notebooks in school. my dad refuses to buy a new laptop, so im stuck with joel's old and lousy laptop. its a price to pay for getting a new desktop. joel boasts of it being a gaming laptop, but its slow! and the best game it can play is prolly dota. and many other laps can do that too. Its also relatively very heavy. adds a big burden to my bag everyday.

And if u study in SP, youll need to do soemthing called self certification on ur laptop if its not bought from the SP vendors. its meant to model the system to be what SP desires it be, and allows access to certain SP websites and connection to SP wireless. compulsory. its like the whole thing gets reformatted, everything on it erased, and then i have to manually install many programs and make many changes according to a thick manual to refer when doing SC.

Its a super sian thing. I did it on monday. i went there after school at 12+, and it lasted until 6+. I didnt have lunch first. So during my time locked up in that cold room i was all hungry, and that catalyses the sian-ness. Almost a torture. It was my new record: 11 hours of not eating anything at all, while none of the time spent sleeping. only had plain water. I totally skipped lunch and got home to eat dinner.

There are also other problems with this laptop that my classmates call antique. Due to incompatibilty of the system, a few programs couldnt be installed during SC, for example windows xp professional. So i might face some problems in future should i need the program. The comp's quite slow in loading stuff, so its rather inconvenient. After 3 years of wearing out, the battery is totally screwed up now. after charging for 3 hours it can only last without power for 5 minutes. Buying a new laptop from the school would have made things much easier and better. Plus its at a discounted rate, about 30-40% cheaper than outside price.

My transition from sec school to poly marks a beginning of a new school life, and that means a new chance to do things that i couldnt or didnt in sec sch. An example would be CCAs. i dont know what got into me.. in sec sch i only had 1 cca and i was rather bochup about it. Now, theres so many ccas that interest me... like campus crudase for christ, which ill likely join, theatre compass , CADC (i went for its orientation camp), student enterpreneurs, student exchange and for a moment i even considered choir! I have to make my decision.. at max ill have 2.

Farrer court's en-bloc 'counter' is currently at 78%. Dangerously close to the 80% mark. Just needs another 2% to approve of the enbloc and farrer court gets sold. 2% would be about 15 units. There was a jump by 8% following a sudden rise in estimated value from 1.4 million to near 2 million. Chances of survival are bleak. I can almost expect the enbloc to succeed. I like this place and am willing to live here for much longer. We arent sure where to move to, and leaving farrer court is not just a shifting of house, but also leaving behind a place which holds all my memories of childhood and growing up. I would be reluctant to leave.

Anyway, here's the highlight of the day! Its Claudia's birthday!!! To claudia, (if she visits here): Happy 18th Birthday! (and if u received it)Hope u like my present! And remember our deal! =)

IB rival!

Not long ago i found out about IB schools but still not sure how it works. Yesterday, i found something that sounds even better than IB, and unbelievable. My ex classmate was recently enrolled in some private diploma school ... something like SDP academy.

The students there get a diploma in 10 months! But after that they need to do a 5 month advanced diploma in order to get into university. Still, in total thats about 1 1/2 years... Half the time as poly!!

It isnt very expensive. The 10 months in diploma costs only 6000+, which isnt much compared to poly -- 2000+ per semester. (6 month)

The qualifications is not high at all. That classmate got 27 points L1R4. Cant even get into any course in poly. Its so bad that she wanted to retake o levels at first. Plus, she is in the hospitality management course, which is also offered at TP. That course is quite similar to mine, and im sure the cutoff is quite low too.

A 27-pointer getting into a low cutoff course and graduating much earlier.. How about that.

This thing is really driving me nuts!! There must be a catch somewhere such that ppl arent flocking to these schools instead of poly. And before i get to know what is it, i wont be at peace cos it makes me regret joining poly instead of that. Someone pls help me!!

CADC FOC 07

This morning i slept at about 2. I couldnt sleep at first. After some time it came a part i was feeling extremely tired, with a splitting headache and dizziness. I was like semi conscious... still awake but unable to move any part. That was when i started having a series of many very short but freaky nightmares. I think.. none of them involved ghostly apperances, tho. I cant rmb all of them, except the last one, which woke me up. I dreamt that i was on my bed (exactly the place and position as i was. I was lying face up.) Then i suddenly felt something flat and hard like a wood plank pressing against my back, and something else smaller pressing against my chest so i could hardly breathe. Then i started to levitate slowly, up until almost touching the ceiling, and then floated down back onto my bed. and when i touched down i woke up. It was one of the most real dreams i ever had. The feeling of the pressure and my arms dangling as i was lifted up, as well as the state of confusion and awaiting the worst was so real. And it freaks me out till now. Did i really have a spiritual attack? I know these things are very real. But I didnt do anything that could possibly trigger off such an attack... unless for... not doing QT for almost a week and not going to church on sunday. oOo. U all better play safe and be regular with ur QT ok..

Anyway, that was just a sidetrack. I was away for some poly orientation camp from sat to tues. Was held at st johns island. On the overall, its a very good camp. Can clearly see that a real lot of preparation was put into it. The element of surprise in some programmes and the senior's going the extra mile to try make things fun for us, plus the (forced) fostering of bonding makes the camp a very memorable one. But sadly i couldnt really enjoy it cos i was constantly very tired. The schedule heavily deprives us of sleep. I almost fell sick but surprisingly recovered before i did. I enjoyed it better when i got used to the conditions and 'lifestyle' of the camp.

An account of it would be posted on the other blog soon. Ugh. The kem kaizen (and the outdated christ n co) is still in progress and i have to on-hold it now to write on this. Ill try to complete this one this time.
