What's in a new year?

Its now 2013. And the world goes on as per normal. We can all now take a good mocking laugh at all that Mayan calendar nonsense, doomsday prophecies, and the movie 2012! Its not much of a surprise... I know God has much more in plan for this world (and for me) than to end it so soon.

During the year that has passed, i finally obtained my driving license earlier in the year, and then in september, i finally threw the NSF life outta the window. (cant throw NS life out just yet - it will come back to plague me every year still.) At the same time, i ventured into the new phase of university + work. Through it all, i am thankful for all these milestones. At the same time, this year was a really dry year, and dark at some points. So much that ive lost much sense of hope... though still hoping to regain my hope.

School seems to be giving me no breaks or holidays. After my first semester, the next one started merely 9 days later, and after current one, the next one starts immediately. not to mention, even if i did have a holiday, it would be spent busy clocking work hours towards the crazy 1000 hours requirement! Good thing i took a break from work in December - to finish up my projects and exams, have a short retreat to Bintan (the only time i went overseas the whole year), and celebrate Christmas and New Year in peace.
In the semesters ahead, i foresee availability for work getting lesser and lesser, since the modules get tougher and my exemptions are running out. In the worst case, i shall just complete the remaining hours after my course, then ill graduate.

So whats in this new year?
A new year of opportunities and hope. Hope for opportunities, and opportunities to hope.
Also several new year resolutions have been set in place... some carried on since many years ago, and some made upon new revelations and changes in mindset over 2012. With God's help, may i meet them this year!
