Christmas Eve and Poison Tea

Its christmas eve! the day before long-awaited christmas and spirits are high. So on the eve of eve, together with 3 friends, decided to chill at the poolside of my condo in romantic dim light. We played cards, brought vodka, chips and peach tea as mixer and for the one who would drive the rest home... all so fine and dandy.

One thing though, the peach tea i discovered was not sealed, and it was fizzy! someone must have added soda previously, i thought, and it didnt taste so bad. my 3 friends with fussy taste buds declined a second sip of the drink, and i being the good host drank it all for them.

I awoke early the next morning to a terrible stomachache. sitting on the throne, what happened next made me think for a moment that God changed my gender overnight! my intestines expanded and contracted furiously, not caring how torturous it felt, and everything solid or liquid i had taken in came out from both ends of my digestive system. what a feeling to start the day on Christmas eve!

The torment continued several hours, and fever set in. Only lying on my bed brought me partial relief. One thing that weighed most on my mind was the stack of unwritten christmas cards on my table, due to be given the day after. Nobody wants to be late for christmas! Yet i couldnt bring myself to write a word.

Now half the day is wasted, and i have skipped 2 caroling sessions to be at home. By a miracle, i could overcome my sickly state and finish my cards today. Nevertheless, nothing should ever spoil my festive holiday!
